You See vs. They See

Golfing on a Sunday

You see wrinkles.

They see a mommy’s great big smile that is stretched wide because she is so proud.

You see under-eye circles.

They see mommy’s unconditional loving eyes.

You see a plate of instant mac and cheese or a PB Jelly sandwich

They see mommy’s home cooking.

You see age spots, dark spots, and hair you haven’t washed in days.

They see a mom who spent the day in the pool or beach diving, boogie boarding, and doing cannon-balls.

You see an imperfect body that lacks muscle tone and a few extra pounds.

They see the mommy who took them on a bike ride or on a walk to feed the ducks and then went to get ice cream with extra sprinkles.

You see a house that needs to be cleaned.

They see a playroom filled and a couch cushion fort that is better than all their friends

You see a lady who struggles to remain positive but some days cannot hold back the tears.

They see a mom who is always there to pick them up and always willing to give a big bear hug when she is feeling down.

You see all the imperfections in yourself and are constantly comparing yourself to others.

They see a princess who is prettier than any fairytale princess they have ever seen.

You see a lady who can always improve and often feels like she is failing

They only see the time spent with them and a mom who can solve any problem.

You see a mom who wants to hide under the covers at 6 am when they come running in.

They see a mom who is ready to play hide and seek or the tickle game as soon as they jump in the bed.

You see the clock ticking slow wondering if it is bedtime yet.

They see the clock moving fast because they know they only have a few more minutes with the most special person they know.

Today let’s take their perspective because you are a great mom, a beautiful woman, and perfect just the way you are.  To your kids –You are SIMPLY THE BEST!
